The curled-up, fresh-from-the-womb poses are only possible in the first couple of weeks. We work around feeds, naps and nappy changes, never rush your baby, and only book two sessions a day so there's always time to get it right.

Enjoy up to 3 hours of relaxed photography in our Blantyre studio or in the comfort of your own home.

After your session, you’ll return for your private viewing appointment, where you can choose the photographs you love. Digital collections, prints and wall art are available separately, with most families investing £250–£900.

When to have a Newborn Photography session

The best time for a Newborn photography session is during the first 14 days after the baby is born. During this time, we can pose your baby in those super cute curled up positions that make amazing shots.

After the first two weeks it is still possible to photograph your newborn however, babies tend to be less sleepy and want to stretch out or maybe slightly colicky and less settled so certain positions might not be possible.

 

Before you arrive

We recommend your book your Newborn photography session at our studio near Glasgow in advance. Its advisable to contact us after your 20-week scan to advise us of your due date and we can book you a session. Don’t worry if baby comes earlier or later than expected just let us know in good time. We will send you full information about what to expect prior to the appointment.

On the day

We only ever book a max of two newborn photography sessions per day to ensure the sessions can be relaxed as possible and we can take as long as we need to ensure we get the perfect shots of your little one.

We have 20 years combined photography experience so we know that babies can be unpredictable! We allow ample time for any feeding or nappy changes required.

We also accommodate any siblings or fur babies you may wish to be photographed too.

It is advised that they join us at the beginning or end of the session to ensure they aren’t waiting around too long.

We do have a stock of props and backgrounds we use but if you’d rather the images were more personal to you and your family feel free to bring along any hats, blankets or toys you’d like to incorporate.

What to expect after the session

Once we are all happy with the session. We will process the images and make any required edits.

We invite you to arrange an appointment 1 week after the Newborn session to view these images and select your favourites. At this stage there will be an opportunity to purchase the images you love.

We offer an “a la carte” service, there’s no pressure to buy a specific package and plenty of time to discuss the right sizes, finish and frames for you.

After this appointment it can take up to 6 weeks to receive your order depending on the workwe have on at the timehowever receive your images sooner than this.

Is there anything I need to do to prepare for our newborn photo session?

It is advisable to arrive at our studio with your baby needing a feed. That way, we can begin the photography session with your newborn taking a feed which will hopefully make for a sleepier and more content baby.

Tea, coffee, soft drinks and biscuits are provided during the session, though you are welcome to bring along any additional drinks or snacks.

Babies are only this small once, but you will cherish the memories forever.
